1. From the Tools menu, select Maintenance. The Maintenance dialog box appears.

2. Click Erase Configuration. The Save dialog box opens.
3. In the File Name field, enter a complete path on the VSM server in which to save your backup
file with a name for the file.
4. Click Save. The Erase Configuration wizard opens to the Backup Folder name screen. The name
of the backup file path you entered in the Save dialog box appears in the Backup Folder name
field.
5. Click Next. A confirmation screen appears.
6. Click Finish. The VSM server configuration is erased.
Backing up the VSM server configuration
The VSM server performs an automatic hourly backup of the local domain configuration and saves
the file under the <VSM Installation>/Core/Backup folder on the active VSM server. In addition, the
VSM client enables you to manually backup the VSM server configuration.
To backup the VSM server configuration:
1. From the Tools menu, select Maintenance. The Maintenance dialog box appears.
2. Click Backup Setup. The Save dialog box opens.
3. In the File Name field, enter a complete path on the VSM server in which to save your backup
file with a name for the file.
4. Click Save. The Backup Setup wizard opens to the Backup Folder name screen. The name of the
backup file path you entered in the Save dialog box appears in the Backup Folder name field.
5. If you want to include boot data, check Include Boot Data.
6. If you want to compress the file, check Compress.
7. Click Next. A confirmation screen appears.
