The status of the VDG. Possible values:
• Normal—All members of the VDG have normal status.
• Partial—One or more of the VDG members has partial status.
Status
The states of the VDG members. Possible values:
• Normal—Each virtual disk is in normal operational state.
• Delete—Each virtual disk is being deleted. The VSM server marks the virtual
disk for deletion and waits for an acknowledgement from all the hosts that use
it. Once acknowledged, the VSM server deletes the virtual disk and marks the
capacity that it used as free space available for allocation. When the deletion
is complete, the virtual disk disappears from the virtual disk list.
State
Yes indicates that the VDG is defined as a cluster resource. This setting tunes the
SVSP system behavior when the virtual disk is permitted to multiple hosts (configured
as a resource in a cluster application). For a description of configuring virtual disks
for cluster applications, see “Defining virtual disks as clustered” on page 117.
All VDG members must be configured as either clustered or non-clustered. You
cannot configure clustered and non-clustered members in one VDG.
Clustered
A free text display field. To modify the text that appears here, right-click the VDG
information row and select Manage > Edit Comment. You can use this field for
any purpose.

The time at which the VDG was created.Creation Time

Viewing VDG information
You can display detailed information related to each VDG in the tabs area below the VDGs list.
To view information related to a VDG:
In the virtual disk groups list, select a VDG. The following tabs are displayed:
• Properties—Provides the same general information about the selected VDG described in Table
50.
• Members—Displays the members of the VDG. Members can be virtual disks or snapshots.
• PiT—Displays any snapshot PiTs created on the VDG. PiTs may be created by a user or by a VSM
service, such as migration, snapclone, and mirror services, as part of another operation.
• Host Presentation—Displays hosts that have permission to access the VDG or one of the members.
• Data Path Module/VSM—If the VDG is presented to UDH hosts, the Data Path Module tab displays
the primary and secondary DPM settings for the VDG and the active DPM.
• Security—Shows which permissions are assigned to users and user groups for managing the VDG.
• Hierarchy—Shows the relationship between the selected virtual disk and any snapshot PiTs and
snapshots for which the VDG is a source element.
• Disabled Operations—Shows which operations you cannot currently perform on the VDG and the
reason for each. See the release notes for a current list of disabled operations.
