Failing over virtual disks from a DPM
You can fail over all VSM storage elements that the DPM is currently presenting to hosts. This includes
virtual disks, snapshots, VDGs, VDG snapshots, and asynchronous mirror groups. This operation
makes the DPM passive for all elements for which the DPM is currently active. You need to do this if
you perform maintenance on the DPM. The storage elements fail over to another DPM that supports
the configuration and becomes the active DPM that now presents the LUNs to hosts. The multipath
software running on the host enables the transition of resources from one DPM to another.
To fail over all VSM storage elements from a DPM:
1. In the navigation tree, expand the Entities node.
2. Click the DPM node. The DPM list appears in the list area.
