2. Select Filter. The Filter Event Log dialog box appears.

3. Specify your filter criteria. You can do the following:
Specify modules related to events, as follows: From the Module dropdown list, select a module.
Specify sources from which events originated, as follows: From the Source dropdown list,
select a source.
Specify users who initiated events, as follows: From the User dropdown list, select a user.
Specify event IDs, as follows: From the Event ID dropdown list, select an event ID.
Specify the types of entities in which events occurred, as follows: From the Object type
dropdown list, select an entity type.
Specify severity types, as follows: Check one or more of the following severity types: Critical,
Major, Minor, and Informational.
Specify the log times at which events occurred, as follows: Enter log times in the Time fields.
Specify event descriptions, as follows: Enter an event description the Description field.
Configure the VSM client to display only the events that meet all of your filter criteria, as fol-
lows: From the Select Or/And dropdown list, select And.
Configure the VSM client to display the events that meet any of your selected criteria, as fol-
lows: From the Select Or/And dropdown list, select Or.
4. Click OK. The event log filter is applied. The following statement appears in the list area: Filtered
view showing <filtered> of <total> event(s).
Removing event log filters
Event log filters remain applied until you manually remove them. To apply an event log filter, see
Filtering event logs on page 359.
To remove an event log filter:
1. Right-click Recent Logs or All Logs.
2. Select Filter. The Filter Event Log dialog box appears.
3. Click Restore Defaults.
