entity. A backup snapshot must be synchronously captured on both the data drive and the log
drive.
When a VSS snapshot is triggered on a virtual disk that is also a member of a VDG, the VSM
expects the VSS to trigger a snapshot for the other members of the VDG as well. If the snapshot is
not triggered for all members of the VDG, the VSM fails the creation of the snapshot.
If you create a VSS snapshot with the VShadow utility, make sure that all of the drives that represent
the members of the VDG are included in the command. If you create the VSS snapshot with a
backup application, configure the backup application to backup all of the drives that represent
the members of the VDG.
Uninstalling the SVSP VSS hardware provider
You can remove the SVSP VSS hardware provider from the host computer by selecting Start >
Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and selecting the entry for the SVSP VSS hardware
provider.
