To determine the status of an object, click on the object in the In Query pane. The status of
the object is displayed in the Properties pane.
VSM event log
You can review the VSM event log for this information:
• Critical events
• Errors
• Warnings
Figure 24 (page 46) shows the entries in the VSM event log.

Alerts automated notification
In addition to using the VSM GUI to manually monitor the VSM system, you can configure the VSM
to provide alerts. The VSM system includes an automated alert feature. You can configure the VSM
to send alerts for specific events to an email address or to syslog servers.
