configuration
Prerequisites for plug-in installation
HP-UX
NOTE:
The user login to be used for the installation and access of the plug-in must not be
root
.
Installation was tested on HP-UX B.11.31 U(64).
The following environmental variables need to be set in the Oracle profile in order to gather Automatic
Storage Management (ASM) information:
SVSP_ASM_SIDname of the ASM instance
Example: export SVSP_ASM_SID=+ASM
SVSP_ORACLE_HOMEset to the original ORACLE_HOME
Example: export SVSP_ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_HOME
SVSP_PATHset to $ORACLE_HOME/bin, plus the original path
Example: export SVSP_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH
The SVSP plug-in requires the use of SUDO to run the scripts to gather metric information. If SUDO
is not already installed on the system:
1. Download sudo-1.7.2p1-ia64-11.31.depot from http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/
Sysadmin/sudo-1.7.2p5/.
2. Install the package.
3. Set PATH variables to /usr/local/bin and /usr/local/sbin.
4. Copy the sample sudoers /usr/local/etc/sudoers.sample file to /usr/local/etc/
sudoers.
5. Run visudo to edit the config file.
6. Add an entry at the bottom of the config file using the agent ORACLE_HOME path with the
following appended to the end: /sysman/admin/scripts/emx/HPSVSPSystemStorage/
SVSPDevices.
