9 Working with virtual disk groups
A virtual disk group (VDG) is an entity that you can create to encapsulate multiple virtual disks into
one entity. Every operation that you then perform on the VDG is performed simultaneously on all VDG
members.
A VDG can contain:
Virtual disks
Snapshots
A combination of virtual disks and snapshots
You can:
View the VDGs list (view all VDGs defined in the local domain)
View VDG information (view information about each VDG in the tabs area)
Create VDGs
Add members to VDGs (add virtual disks and snapshots to existing VDGs)
Manage VDG permissions (add, change, and remove host permissions for VDGs)
Manage active and primary DPMs for each VDG (set primary and secondary DPMs, and switch
the currently active DPM. These options are relevant to VDGs used by user-defined hosts (UDHs).
Rename VDGs
Configure VDG cluster support
Delete VDGs
Viewing the virtual disk group list
The virtual disk groups list displays all VDGs defined in the local domain.
To view the virtual disk groups list:
1. In the navigation tree, expand the Entities node.
