Managing VDG permissions
Permissions to VSM servers must be identical for all members of a VDG. Permissions to UDH hosts
can be different for different members as long as all such hosts permitted to any members of the VDG
are connected to the same DPM.
If you add a virtual disk or snapshot without host permissions to a VDG that has permissions, the new
member inherits the permissions of the VDG. If you remove such a member from a VDG, the inherited
permissions remain.
You can configure host permissions for accessing all members of a VDG as follows:
Add host permission to a VDG
Change a host’s permission to access a VDG
Remove a host’s permission from a VDG
Adding host permission to VDGs
To add host permission to a VDG:
1. Right-click the VDG to which you want to add host permission.
2. Select Manage > Manage Permission > Add Host Permission. The Add Host Permission wizard
opens to the Select type of Host screen.
