7 Working with storage pools
A storage pool is a set of back-end LUs from which you can create virtual disks and assign them to
hosts. Storage pools enable you to classify storage elements into classes of service and provide
different classes of service to different hosts.
Your pooling criteria may be storage model, RAID level, performance requirements, physical location,
user groups, or any other criteria that suits your requirements.
You can:
View the storage pools list
View storage pool information
Create storage pools
Expand storage pools
Shrink storage pools
Change storage pool free capacity alert threshold
Delete storage pools
Viewing the storage pools list
The storage pools list displays all storage pools defined in the local domain.
To view the storage pools list:
1. In the navigation tree, expand the Entities node.
