Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA P6000 for Linux is a Hewlett-Packard high availability
product for Serviceguard customers requiring integrated disaster recovery solutions with HP EVA
P6000 Series.
Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA P6000 for Linux Version B.12.00.00 is being released
on the following Linux distributions:
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 Server or Advanced Platform
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 Server or Advanced Platform
• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11
Integrating this product with Serviceguard allows application packages to automatically fail over:
• among local nodes that are attached to the same P6000/EVA series array.
• between one system that is attached locally to its P6000/EVA frame and another remote node
that is attached locally to the other P6000/EVA frame.
Since Metrocluster configurations may be complex to configure and maintain, it is strongly
recommended that you use Hewlett-Packard’s high availability consulting services to ensure a
smooth installation and rollout. Contact your HP representative to inquire about high availability
consulting. In addition, you should work with your HP representative to ensure that you have the
required firmware revisions for disk drives, disk controllers, LAN controllers, and other hardware.

Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA P6000 for Linux provides automated failover of
Serviceguard packages on local and remote P6000/EVA series disk arrays.

Support for Synchronous Replication Mode
Metrocluster for Linux supports Synchronous write mode with P6000/EVA arrays. In Synchronous
write mode, the data at primary and remote array are identical and concurrent at any point of
time. This write mode is required when business application needs concurrent data.
