1. Open a command prompt window.
2. Type net use.
3. If open connections on the remote node are found, type:
net use <node_admin_share> /delete
4. Attempt the operation in HP SUM that caused HP SUM to display the error.
HP SUM does not launch if you are launching it from a directory that doesn’t contain HP SUM on Linux
hosts
Suggested Action: Navigate to the directory that contains HP SUM before attempting to launch HP
SUM.
Node issues
HP SUM stops responding when finding nodes using the Find Nodes function
Suggested Action: Do not enter an IP Start Address that is higher than the IP End Address.
HP SUM displays an incorrect message, “Generating Report” when analyzing multiple nodes
Suggested Action: Re-analyze the nodes that did not analyze correctly. This will be fixed in a future
version.
HP SUM displays the error “Unable to start hpsumservice service on node when it tries to access a
remote node
Suggested Action: Due to network security settings, HP SUM cannot start the HP SUM engine on the
remote node. Run HP SUM locally on the node.
HP SUM does not launch on nodes running on supported Linux operating systems
Suggested Action: Make sure that the Linux dependencies are installed on the node. For more
information, see “Operating system dependencies (page 5).
HP SUM cannot create a session on a remote node
Suggested Action: Do not use special characters in passwords on remote nodes. This issue will be
resolved in a future version of HP SUM.
HP SUM stops working when it deploys updates to a Cisco switch
Suggested Action: No action. This issue will be resolved in a future version of HP SUM.
HP Qlogic nx-nic Drivers show failed dependency in a Linux environment
Suggested Action: While performing an update in interactive mode in a Linux environment, HP SUM
displays a failed dependency for HP Qlogic nx-nic Drivers. Install the component outside of HP SUM
after you install the hp-nx_nic tools.
If you perform an update in HP SUM legacy CLI mode (hpsum -s), HP SUM does not complete the
update due to a failed dependency. To install the updates, install the required RPM on the node server.
The required RPM is hp-nx_nic-tools-4.0.590.6.1-1.noarch.rpm and is located in the SPP
at hp/swpackages.
HP SUM removes the assigned baseline for a node if you edit a node
Suggested Action: If you edit a node, select the baseline or additional package you want to apply to
the node.
