Serviceguard Extension for RAC Version A.11.19 Release Notes (May 2010)

Serviceguard version A.11.19 must be installed as a prerequisite product for SGeRAC version
A.11.19. Or, if the correct version of Serviceguard is not installed on the system, but present on
the media from which SGeRAC is going to be installed, Serviceguard will be selected for the in-
stallation as well. (See the latest version of the Serviceguard Version A.11.19 Release Notes at
the address given above for more information about Serviceguard.)
Version A.11.19 of SGeRAC permits a maximum of 16 HP 9000 or HP Integrity servers configured
as a high availability cluster. Multiple Oracle databases on the same node are supported.
All nodes in the cluster must be either SGeRAC nodes or Serviceguard nodes. An SGeRAC cluster
must have SGeRAC software installed on all nodes. SGeRAC version A.11.17 and later will enforce
this homogeneity requirement at cluster creation and formation.
Rolling upgrade restrictions:
Rolling upgrade is not supported from releases prior to version A.11.15.
SGeRAC does not support a rolling upgrade from the Cluster Volume Manager from Symantec
(CVM) in any of the following cases:
CVM version 3.5 to CVM version 4.1, 5.0, or 5.0.1
CVM version 4.1 to CVM version 5.0 or 5.0.1
CVM version 5.0 to CVM version 5.0.1
Online package reconfiguration restriction:
SGeRAC does not support online configuration changes to any SGeRAC Toolkit parameters in an
SGeRAC Toolkit package. It does support online changes to Serviceguard parameters in all cases
that Serviceguard itself supports.
See also Support for the SGeRAC Toolkit on page 11.
Operating-System Dependencies
The A.11.19 version of SGeRAC is supported on HP-UX 11i v2 and 11i v3.
NOTE:
Oracle 11gR2 is supported only on HP Integrity servers running HP-UX 11i v3.
NOTE:
All nodes in a given cluster must be running the same version of HP-UX. See Mixed Clusters not
Supported on page 5.
SGeRAC can be installed on top of the HP-UX 11i v2 and 11i v3 Mission Critical Operating
Environment (MCOE), and the 11i v3 High Availability Operating Environment (HAOE) or Data Center
Operating Environment (DCOE). It is not necessary to uninstall Serviceguard filesets before installing
SGeRAC.
NOTE:
If the version of Serviceguard in the MCOE, HAOE, or DCOE is not A.11.19, you must first upgrade
to Serviceguard version A.11.19. For Serviceguard upgrade requirements, see the latest version of
the
Serviceguard Version A.11.19 Release Notes
; for procedures, see the latest version of
Managing
Serviceguard
