Serviceguard Extension for RAC Version A.11.19 Release Notes (May 2010)

Support for a maximum of four nodes over distances up to 100 kilometers in an extended-distance
cluster with CFS/CVM 5.0 or 5.0.1 and LVM 2.1.
The previous maximum in this configuration was two nodes.
Hostnames for SGeRAC cluster nodes can be up to 39 characters (bytes) long. (The former limit
was 31 characters).
NOTE:
The SLVM subsystem on HP-UX 11i v2 only supports hostnames up to 31 characters long in an
SGeRAC configuration. The cluster node name associated with a SLVM volume group will be
shown in the vgdisplay output as the first 30 characters plus an asterisk (*) if the hostname is
longer than 31 characters.
Starting with version A.11.17, all log messages from cmgmsd log to /var/adm/syslog/sys-
log.log by default
Support for Logical Volume Manager Version 2.0 and later
Logical Volume Manager (LVM) 2.0 volume groups, which remove some of the limitations imposed
by LVM 1.0 volume groups, can be used on systems running HP-UX 11i v3 0803 Fusion or later with
LVM version B.11.31.0809 and Serviceguard and SGeRAC A.11.19. (This support was first introduced
in a patch to Serviceguard A.11.18.)
NOTE:
You are not required to move to LVM 2.0 volume groups and everything will work as before if you
do nothing.
If you
do
use LVM 2.0 volume groups, you can still manage them with the same commands as before,
although you may have to make minor changes to any scripts you use that parse the output of
lvdisplay, vgdisplay, pvdisplay or vgscan, as the output of these commands has changed
slightly. In addition, new options are available for some commands.

Support for Multi-Node Online Configuration (MORE) LVM Version 2.1 Volume
Groups Only
Multi Node Online Reconfiguration (MORE), introduced in the HP-UX 11i v3 September 2009 release,
allows you to change the configuration of LVM Version 2.1 volume groups while the volume groups
are activated in shared mode on any number of cluster nodes. Applications can continue to use these
volume groups without interruption while the volume groups are being reconfigured.
