Chapter 486
Upgrading to HP Serviceguard A.11.18 and
XDC A.01.01
This section discusses the procedure you need to follow to upgrade to
Serviceguard A.11.18 and to XDC A.01.01.
To Upgrade to HP Serviceguard A.11.18 and XDC
A.01.01
To upgrade to the current version of Serviceguard, you need to complete
the following procedure on every node in the cluster. However, only after
you complete the procedure on one node, can you proceed to the other
node. You cannot carry out this procedure on all nodes simultaneously.
1. Determine which node you want to start the upgrade procedure. You
would also need to determine if the node is Red Hat or SuSE Linux
Enterprise Server.
2. Run the following command to halt the node:
# cmhaltnode
3. Upgrade the Serviceguard version to A.11.18. For information on
upgrading to Serviceguard A.11.18, see HP Serviceguard for Linux
Version A.11.18 Release Notes.
4. Install XDC on this node. For more information on installing XDC,
see “Installing the Extended Distance Cluster Software” on page 61.
5. Edit the SERVICE_CMD parameter in the package configuration file to
include $SG_PACKAGE parameter.
SERVICE_NAME[0]="RAID_monitor"
SERVICE_CMD[0]="$SGSBIN/raid_monitor $SG_PACKAGE
'${XDC_CONFIG_FILE}'"
You must include the $SG_PACKAGE parameter in the package
configuration file if you need to use legacy packages that you
configured with HP Serviceguard A.11.16 on Serviceguard A.11.18.
By including this parameter, the package control script of
Serviceguard A.11.16 integrates with the package control script of
HP Serviceguard A.11.18.
