HP Serviceguard for Linux Version A.11.19 Release Notes, April 2009

NOTE: As of the date of publication of these Release Notes, HP recommends
you use JDK version 1.6.0 Update 11.
Make sure you write down the path to the JDK, for example /usr/java/
jdk1.6.0_11. You will need it to complete the hpsmh-tomcat installation;
see “Installing the Serviceguard Manager Software”.
NOTE: These URLs were correct at the time of publication, but may have changed
in the meantime.
5. Updated your web browser if necessary.
The current version of Serviceguard Manager requires Firefox version 2 or 3 or
later or Internet Explorer 6 or 7 or later.
Installing the Serviceguard Manager Software
All the software referred to in this section is on the Serviceguard for Linux DVD.
Follow the instructions appropriate to your Linux version and architecture; see
the subsections below.
You must install the software in the order shown.
Repeat the installation on each cluster node on which you want to run Serviceguard
Manager.
Additional steps are needed after you install DSAU; see “Using Serviceguard
Manager to Configure the Package clog for Consolidated Logging” (page 45).
NOTE: When you install hpsmh-tomcat, you will see a message telling you to run
tomcat_cfg (opt/hp/hpsmh/tomcat/bin/tomcat_cfg) to complete the
installation. You will need the full path to the JDK binary (or to the JDK for IA64) that
you wrote down when you installed the JDK; see item 4 under “Before You Start”
(page 42). If you did not write down the path, you can run the find command to find
all Java files and directories, for example:
find / -name java
The file in the ~jdk~ path is the one you want, not one in the ~jre~ path; for example,
look for a file such as /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_12/bin/java or (for IA64)/usr/
java/jdk1.6.0_11.
For Red Hat 5 (IA32)
Navigate to RedHat5/SGManager/IA32 on the Serviceguard for Linux DVD: and
install the following:
rpm -ihv hpsmh-3.0.0-68.i386.rpm
rpm -ihv hpsmh-tomcat-1.0-11.linux.i386.rpm
