HP Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux is a High Availability (HA) HP product that
integrates Metrocluster with HP 3PAR Storage Systems.
Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux is being released on the following Linux distributions:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 server or Advanced Platform
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 server or Advanced Platform
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11
Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux allows:
The application packages to automatically failover among local nodes that are attached to
the same 3PAR storage system.
The application packages to automatically failover between one system that is attached locally
to its 3PAR storage system and another remote node that is attached locally to the other 3PAR
storage system.
Metrocluster configurations are complex to configure and maintain. Hence HP recommendeds that
you use HP's high availability consulting services to ensure a smooth installation and rollout. Contact
your HP representative to inquire about high availability consulting. In addition, you should work
with your HP representative to ensure that you have the required firmware revisions for disk drives,
disk controllers, LAN controllers, and other hardware devices.
What's new in B.01.00.10 version
Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux B.01.00.10 is available as an update to Metrocluster
with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux B.01.00.00 version. The SGLX_00449, SGLX_00450, and
SGLX_00451 are the update IDs for RHEL 5, RHEL 6, and SLES 11 respectively. To update to
version B.01.00.10, you must install these updates on top of the Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote
Copy for Linux version B.01.00.00 or later using the mc3parupdate script.
Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux B.01.00.10 provides the following new features:
“Support for Cluster Verification (page 4)
“Support for Remote Copy volume group monitor (page 5)
“Support for VMWare virtual machines as Metrocluster nodes (page 5)
Support for Cluster Verification
Metrocluster for Linux supports verification of its packages. By using the cmcheckconf -v
command, you can generate a report on the sanity of the cluster configuration. This feature requires
Serviceguard for Linux A.11.20.20 or later.
