Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux Version B.01.00.10 Release Notes

NOTE: Starting Serviceuard for Linux A.11.20.20, you can use Persistent Reservations with
Metrocluster for Linux when Device Mapper (DM) is enabled.
For more information on the restrictions, see HP Serviceguard for Linux Certification Matrix available
at http://www.hp.com/go/linux-serviceguard-docs.
Features not supported in Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux
Synchronous Long Distance configuration
Unidirectional Remote Copy configuration
3PAR Remote Copy volume groups configured with fail_wrt_on_err policy
Serviceguard Cluster and Package configuration using Serviceguard
Manager
Starting with HP Serviceguard Manager B.03.31.10, available along with Serviceguard for Linux
A.11.20.10, the following Serviceguard Manager operations are supported in a Metrocluster with
3PAR Remote Copy for Linux environment:
Configuring, monitoring, and administration of Metrocluster modular packages.
However, the following is the restriction with Serviceguard Manager in a Metrocluster with 3PAR
Remote Copy for Linux environment:
The Metrocluster package configuration requires a system administrator to configure data replication,
which is not supported by the Serviceguard Manager. This step needs to be performed by the
administrator outside of HP Serviceguard Manager.
For more information, see HP Serviceguard Manager B.03.31.10 online help system that is available
with the product.
NOTE: Before you configure any Metrocluster 3PAR Remote copy Package, password files must
be created for Metrocluster binary to query the HP 3PAR storage arrays. Run the command line
setupMC3PARpasswdfile utility to create the password file. For more information, see Building
Disaster Recovery Serviceguard Solutions Using Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux
available at www.hp.com/go/linux-serviceguard-docs.
When a 3PAR package is created from the Serviceguard Manager the monitoring parameters
cannot be specified. Therefore, you cannot configure Remote Copy volume group monitor from
the GUI.
If you have created a package with Remote Copy volume group monitor in CLI, then the parameters
related to the monitor in the package are not visible from the GUI.
The cmcheckconf v command for cluster verification cannot be invoked from the GUI.
Compatibility information and installation requirements
Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux must be installed on all nodes:
