HP Serviceguard A.11.20.10 for Linux Release Notes, December 2012

Servicegurad-xdc supports LAD for modular failover packages. For more information, see HP
Serviceguard Extended Distance Cluster for Linux A.11.20.10 Deployment Guide
NOTE: Serviceguard-xdc is supported with physical nodes. It is not supported on Virtual Machines.
For more information about XDC module attributes, see HP Serviceguard Extended Distance Cluster
for Linux A.11.20.10 Deployment Guide.
Support for Sites
Site aware disaster recovery cluster can be configured using SITE and SITE_NAME cluster
parameters, in a metrocluster environment.
Sites supports the following failover policies in packages:
site_preferred
site_preferred_manual
According to the site_preferred policy, Serviceguard will try all the eligible nodes on the
local SITE before failing the package over to a node on another SITE.
According to the site_preferred_manual policy, Serviceguard will try to fail the package
over to a node on the local SITE. If there are no eligible nodes on the local SITE, the package will
halt with global switching enabled. You can then restart the package locally, when a local node
is available, or start it on another SITE.
For more information, see Managing HP Serviceguard A.11.20.10 for Linux manual.
Support for Alert notification
Alert notification enhances the Serviceguard capability by sending e-mail notification to configured
e-mail addresses in case of predefined set of events. By default, this parameter is commented and
is present in the package configuration file for the XDC packages.
For more information, see the following manuals:

Easy configuration using cmpreparecl
The cmpreparecl script allows you to ease the process of setting up the servers participating in
the cluster. It also verifies for the availability of ports used by Serviceguard Linux, starts the xinetd
services, updates specific files, and sets up the firewall. The cmpreparecl script is supported in
Serviceguard A.11.20.10.
For more information about easy configuration, see Easy Deployment: cmpreparecl section
in the Managing HP Serviceguard A.11.20.10 for Linux manual.
