HP Serviceguard for Linux Version A.11.19 Release Notes, April 2009

Serviceguard A.11.19 uses Persistent Reservations (PR). See About Persistent
Reservations” (page 18)
You can now configure a maximum of 300 packages in a cluster. The previous
limit was 150.
There are new Serviceguard demons:
Service Assistant Daemon: cmserviced (replaces cmsrvassistd)
Cluster WBEM Agent Daemon: cmwbemd
Proxy Daemon: cmproxyd
See the section “Serviceguard Daemons” in Chapter 3 of the latest edition Managing
Serviceguard for Linux for more information about these daemons.
The following features were first introduced in a patch to A.11.18:
Serviceguard provides a means of automatically migrating existing (legacy)
packages to modular packages. See “Migrating Legacy to Modular Packages”
(page 24).
Further package capabilities, additional to those introduced in Serviceguard A.11.19,
are described under“Other Package Changes” (page 24).
Serviceguard supports cross-subnet configurations.
You can configure multiple subnets, joined by a router, both for the cluster heartbeat
and for data, with some nodes using one subnet and some another. See About
Cross-Subnet Configurations” (page 22).
You can configure an alternate subnet for communication between the cluster
nodes and a Quorum Server. See Alternate Quorum Server Subnet” (page 25).
A quorum server can now support up to 150 clusters comprising up to 300 nodes.
The previous limits were 50 clusters and 100 nodes. The new limits are supported
in Quorum Server versions A.02.00.04 and later.
In addition to the new Serviceguard demons introduced in A.11.19 (see above),
new demons were introduced in a patch to A.11.18 (see Chapter 3 of Managing
Serviceguard for Linux for more information about Serviceguard demons):
Lock LUN Daemon: cmdisklockd
If a lock LUN is being used, cmdisklockd runs on each node in the cluster
and is started by cmcld when the node joins the cluster.
Network Manager Daemon: cmnetd
This daemon monitors the health of cluster networks, and handles the addition
and deletion of relocatable package IP addresses, for both IPv4 and IPv6
addresses.
