One-to-One Journal Group Operations
Continuous Access Journal requires a one-to-one relationship between the logical volumes of the
volume pairs. Supported configuration for journal group pair is P9500/XP24000/XP20000 to
P9500/XP24000/XP20000 with a 1-to-1 relationship. That is, 1 journal group in one
P9500/XP24000/XP20000 array can only pair with 1 journal group in another
P9500/XP24000/XP20000 array.
Continuous Access Journal does not support operations in which one primary data volume is copied
to more than one secondary data volume, or more than one primary data volume is copied to one
secondary data volume.
Mode 449 for Continuous Access Journal Operations
Metrocluster supports Mode 449, which is set to the same value for P9500, XP20000, and XP24000
disk arrays. The value of either “ON” or “OFF” should set for P9500, XP20000, and XP24000
disk arrays. Metrocluster does not support a mixed setting of Mode 449. For example, if Mode
499=ON for the primary array and Mode 449=OFF for the secondary array, this configuration
would not be supported. Contact your HP representative to verify and update the Mode 449
settings.
Installing Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux
Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux B.01.00.10 is an update available on
version B.01.00.00. To use B.01.00.10 version, you must install B.01.00.00, and then upgrade
to B.01.00.10.
1. Install therpm to install Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux product.
For Red Hat:
# rpm –i
serviceguard-metrocluster-caxpp9000-B.01.00.00.00-0.rhel5.x86_64.rpm
(RHEL 5.x only)
# rpm –i
serviceguard-metrocluster-caxpp9000-B.01.00.00.00-0.rhel6.x86_64.rpm
(RHEL 6.x only)
For SLES:
# rpm –i
serviceguard-metrocluster-caxpp9000-B.01.00.00.00-0.sles11.x86_64.rpm
The software resides in the following directories:
For Red Hat:
/usr/local/cmcluster/bin
/usr/local/cmcluster/conf
For SLES:
/opt/cmcluster/bin
/opt/cmcluster/conf
2. Install therpm to install Metrocluster Add-ons for Linux.
