HP Serviceguard for Linux Version A.11.19 Release Notes, October 2009

TIP: To prevent an OutofMemory error reported by Tomcat (Exception in thread
"main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space), which may occur
especially if the server is under heavy load or Serviceguard Manager is managing a
large cluster (16 nodes with 300 packages), do the following from the command line:
1. Stop hpsmhd
/etc/init.d/hpsmhd -stop
2. Modify /opt/hp/hpsmh/tomcat/bin/startup.sh , adding the following
line in the export statements section:
export CATALINA_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx512m"
3. Save the file and restart hpsmhd
/etc/init.d/hpsmhd -start
Current Limitations of Serviceguard Manager
Serviceguard Manager currently will not run on an IPv6–only system running SUSE
SLES 10. See “Known Problems” (page 62) for more information.
NOTE: This means that the only IPv6–only configuration in which Serviceguard
Manager currently runs is a system running SLES 11. (Red Hat 5 does not currently
support IPv6–only configurations; see “Rules and Restrictions for IPv6-Only Mode”
(page 16).)
What’s Not in this Release
Serviceguard A.11.19 does not support Red Hat 4.
The last version that did was A.11.18. Serviceguard A.11.19 does support Red Hat
5 and SUSE SLES 10 and SLES 11.
The cmresmond daemon is no longer used for disk monitoring.
Disk monitoring is now managed by cmresserviced, which has a new option,
[-t, --poll-interval <seconds>]
See “Creating a Disk Monitor Configuration” in Chapter 6 of Managing Serviceguard
for Linux for more information.
See Announcements” (page 9) for more information.
