Alternate Quorum Server Subnet
Serviceguard 11.19 allows you to configure an alternate subnet for communication
between the cluster nodes and the Quorum Server. You can do this from the command
line or in Serviceguard Manager. For details and instructions, see the HP Serviceguard

IMPORTANT: As of Serviceguard A.11.19, this capability requires Quorum Server
Version A.04.00. (It is also provided in a patch to Serviceguard A.11.18 with Quorum
Server Version A.03.00, but Quorum Server Version A.03.00 does not support an alternate
subnet with Serviceguard A.11.19.) See “Quorum Server Upgrade Required if You Are
Using an Alternate Address” (page 13).
Support for HPVM, VMware ESX Server, and Xen Virtual Machines
Serviceguard for Linux A.11.19 supports using an HPVM or VMware ESX server virtual
machine as a cluster node (but not as a package); and is also supported on Xen hosts,
where it can manage virtual machines as packages, and can also monitor applications
via cmappmgr (see “About cmappmgr” (page 23)). HPVM is supported on HP Integrity
hosts running HP-UX; VMware ESX Server and Xen are supported on x86 systems.

Points to Note about VM Nodes
• HPVM nodes. If any Serviceguard cluster node is an HPVM virtual machine, the
amount of time Serviceguard needs to wait for a failed node’s I/O to complete
