Supported configuration for SAP Sybase Replication Server
A disaster recovery environment consists of two sites, the primary and the standby. Both sites
contain the Adaptive Server data. Each site contains a Replication Server and a DR Agent. For
information about SAP prerequisites and setting up disaster recovery environment, see the
Configuration and Users Guide for Disaster Recovery Agent manual at http://
infocenter.sybase.com/.
HA to Primary and HA to Standby
In this configuration, the Primary Sybase ASE (ASE-P) instance and the Standby Sybase ASE (ASE-S)
instance are configured in different Serviceguard clusters. Each site, primary and standby, consist
of Replication Server RS-P and RS-S respectively. Figure 3 (page 14) represents this setup.
NOTE: Role-switch is not included. Serviceguard does not control the role-switch.
Role switching is described as a combination of HA and DR. Each site, whether primary or standby,
has HA supported by the toolkit. Sybase replication provides DR and data movement between the
sites.
