HP Serviceguard and Metrocluster Requirements
HP 9000 Servers and HP Integrity Servers specific requirements are:
• HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3
• HP-UX 11i v2 Serviceguard Version A.11.19 only
• HP-UX 11i v3 Serviceguard Version A.11.19, A.11.20 or later
• HP-UX Secure Shell A.04.50.021 or later (OR) OpenSSH 5.8 or later (till PHSS_43442) (OR)
HP 3PAR Inform OS CLI on HP-UX 11i v3 (Starting with PHSS_43444 or later).
Installing Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy
Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy can be installed while the system is running in multi-user
mode.
Run swinstall(1m) to install Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy product from a Software
Distributor (SD) depot. (Skip this step if the software has been preinstalled.) The software will reside
in the following directories:
• /usr/sbin
• /etc/cmcluster/scripts/dts
• /etc/cmcluster/modules/dts
• /opt/cmcluster/toolkit/SG3PARRC/utils
NOTE: If you are using OpenSSH, ensure that the path /usr/sbin/ssh refers to the actual
location of the ssh binary. If you are using HP 3PAR Inform OS CLI, ensure that the path /usr/
bin/cli refers to the actual location of the 3PAR Inform OS CLI client binary /opt/3PAR/
inform_cli_<version> where <version> is the latest supported version of HP 3PAR InForm
OS CLI. The directory /opt/3PAR/inform_cli_<version> is available if the HP 3PAR InForm
OS CLI is installed. If the directory is not available, then install the latest version of the HP 3PAR
InForm OS CLI supported by Metrocluster 3PAR.
Package attribute changes in patch PHSS_43098 (on HP-UX 11i v3)
The following package attribute has been added to the patch PHSS_43098.

This attribute is applicable only for 3PAR Remote Copy volume groups that
are in asynchronous periodic mode. The default time interval value is 250
PERIODIC_ASYNC_LINK_DOWN_TIMEOUT
seconds. When the replication links are down, the Metrocluster binary waits
for the time interval as specified in the
PERIODIC_ASYNC_LINK_DOWN_TIMEOUT attribute for the replication status
of the volume group to change from Started to Stopped state.
Compatibility issues
There are no compatibility Issues with Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy version A.01.00 at
the time of publication.
