Continentalclusters for Linux Version B.01.00.00 Release Notes

N-1 Configuration
N-1 Bidirectional configuration
For more details, see Understanding and Designing Serviceguard Disaster Recovery
Architectures available at http://www.hp.com/go/linux-serviceguard-docs.
Continentalclusters works with any type of data replication. A set of guidelines for integrating
your data replication technology can be found in the Building Disaster Recovery Serviceguard
Solutions Using Continentalclusters for Linux B.01.00.00 available at http://www.hp.com/
go/linux-serviceguard-docs.
Continentalclusters offers flexibility in terms of integrating software based replication for disaster
recovery. A recovery group can have two optional packages, data sender and data receiver.
The data sender package runs in the primary cluster and the data receiver package runs in
the recovery cluster. Based on the actual software used for replication, either data sender or
data receiver or both must be configured.
Continentalclusters provides the disaster recovery rehearsal feature that allows the applications
in the recovery side to start-up while the applications in the production side continue to run.
This allows an administrator to identify and rectify configuration drift and other issues that
may otherwise prevent the start-up of an application during recovery.
Continentalclusters provides a pre-integrated data replication solution using HP Storage
Continuous Access P9000/XP, Continuous Access EVA P6000 and 3PAR Remote Copy, with
the separately purchased products Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux
Version B.01.00.00, Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA P6000 for Linux Version
B.01.00.00, and Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy for Linux Version B.01.00.00.
Cluster monitoring is carried out over LAN or WAN connections. Use any LAN or WAN
connection; however, some data replication methods may require high speed connections
such as T1, T3, E3/ES or ATM leased lines or switched lines.
Continentalclusters for Linux supports the following types of notifications. For more information
on the following notification types, see Building Disaster Recovery Serviceguard Solutions

SNMP traps
For SNMP traps, this product SNMP RPM (serviceguard-continentalclusters-snmpd)
must be installed. This is shipped along with the Continentalclusters for Linux product.
The notifications are sent to the notification OIDs defined in the product SNMP MIB
file /usr/share/snmp/mibs/HP-CCCLUSTER-MIB.txt. For more information
on Continentalclusters SNMP traps, see the man ccsnmpagentd man page.
