1 Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux Version B.01.00.00 Release Notes Announcements Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux is a Hewlett-Packard high availability product for Serviceguard customers requiring integrated disaster recovery solutions with HP XP P9000 Disk Array storage family. Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux Version B.01.00.
Metrocluster for Linux supports HP Serviceguard version A.11.20.xx. All the HP Serviceguard configuration are also applicable to Metrocluster. All the features available with Serviceguard A.11.20.xx are supported in a Metrocluster configuration unless explicitly stated. IMPORTANT: • In a Metrocluster environment, the cmeval tool cannot be used to evaluate the replication status and any changes to the Metrocluster package parameters.
Support for Remote Command Device Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux includes support for remote command device. A remote command device is a device to which a command device in a remote P9000 array is mapped. A remote array P9000 RAID Manager must be configured using the remote command device. Using a remote array RAID manager instance, it is possible to get the status of the device group on the remote P9000 array even when the remote hosts are inaccessible.
Serviceguard Cluster and Package Configuration Via Serviceguard Manager or System Management Homepage Starting with HP Serviceguard Manager B.03.31.10 available in Serviceguard A.11.20.10, the following Serviceguard Manager operations are supported in a Metrocluster environment: • Configuration, monitoring and administration of Metrocluster modular packages.
• When using the pairresync command to resynchronize PVOL/SVOL Continuous Access pairs, specify the -c 15 switch to ensure the fastest resynchronization in order to reduce vulnerability to a rolling disaster. • HP recommends you to use the disk monitor for effective and persistent monitoring of disks. For more information, see Creating a Disk Monitor Configuration in Managing HP Serviceguard A.11.20.10 for Linux available at http://www.hp.com/go/linux-serviceguard-docs.
The HP Proliant server specific requirements are: • RHEL 5.7/RHEL 5.8/RHEL 6.1/RHEL 6.2/RHEL 6.3/SLES 11 SP1/SLES 11 SP2 • Serviceguard for Linux version A.11.20.xx HP Storage P9000 Disk Array Family Continuous Access Software Requirements The following are the P9000 Raid Manager software requirements for using HP Storage Disk Array in a Metrocluster with P9000 Continuous Access environment. P9000 Raid Manager specific minimum requirements are: • Version 1.24.13 or later for P9000 arrays.
Mode 449 for Continuous Access Journal Operations Metrocluster supports Mode 449, which is set to the same value for P9500, XP20000, and XP24000 disk arrays. The value of either “ON” or “OFF” should set for P9500, XP20000, and XP24000 disk arrays. Metrocluster does not support a mixed setting of Mode 449. For example, if Mode 499=ON for the primary array and Mode 449=OFF for the secondary array, this configuration would not be supported.
/opt/drenabler/utils 3. Install the XP/P9000 Raid Manager software on each node based on the disk array (XP/P9000) used in your environment.
