Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux Version B.01.00.00 Release Notes

When using the pairresync command to resynchronize PVOL/SVOL Continuous Access
pairs, specify the -c 15 switch to ensure the fastest resynchronization in order to reduce
vulnerability to a rolling disaster.
HP recommends you to use the disk monitor for effective and persistent monitoring of disks.

Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements
Installation and configuration of Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux must be
done on all the cluster nodes as is done for any other Serviceguard package.
NOTE: For more information on support, compatibility and features for Metrocluster with
Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux Version B.01.00.00, see Serviceguard Disaster Recovery
Products Compatibility and Feature Matrix (Metrocluster Continuous Access XP P9000) available
at http://www.hp.com/go/linux-serviceguard-docs.
To use Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux, the following hardware and
software must be installed and configured on all nodes in the cluster.
Hardware Requirements
The following lists the Microcode versions and compatible HP Storage P9000 or XP disk array
models that are required for Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP P9000 for Linux.
HP Storage Disk Array Requirements
HP Storage Disk Array XP20000/XP24000 with the following:
Microcode version 60-04-04-00/10 or later
HP Storage P9500 Disk Array with the following:
Microcode version 70-01-04-00/00 or later
For latest information on the supported microcode versions of P9000 disk array, see Serviceguard
Disaster Recovery Products Compatibility and Feature Matrix (Metrocluster Continuous Access XP
P9000).
RCP/LCP Continuous Access boards must be installed and used in pairs for redundancy. Multiple
ports on a single board may be used to improve performance, or to connect to different XP/P9000
series remote frames. There must always be at least four Continuous Access links, two in each
direction. The XP/P9000 series cannot use a Continuous Access link bi-directionally. Therefore, it
is required to configure one pair to go in one direction and another pair to go in the other direction.
Otherwise, it is not possible to fail over and fail back without a major Continuous Access link
reconfiguration.
These release notes state the minimum version requirements for Microcode with the Metrocluster
product. Contact your HP Storage Representative to ensure you have up-to-date and correct versions
of Microcode for your HP Storage Disk Array XP P9000 environment.
