Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy is an Hewlett-Packard high availability product that integrates
Metrocluster with HP 3PAR Storage Systems.
Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy Version A.01.00 is being released on HP-UX 11i v2 and
HP-UX 11i v3 with the following product number:
BB066AC - license, media, and documentation
Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy allows:
• The application packages to automatically failover among local nodes that are attached to
the same 3PAR storage system.
• The application packages to automatically failover between one system that is attached locally
to its 3PAR storage system and another remote node that is attached locally to the other 3PAR
storage system.
Since Metrocluster configurations are complex to configure and maintain, it is strongly recommended
that you use Hewlett-Packard’s high availability consulting services to ensure a smooth installation
and rollout. Contact your HP representative to inquire about high availability consulting. In addition,
you should work with your HP representative to ensure that you have the required firmware revisions
for disk drives, disk controllers, LAN controllers, and other hardware devices.
What’s in this version
Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote Copy enables automatic failover of Serviceguard packages between
primary and recovery sites.
Features supported in PHSS_43444 (on HP-UX 11i v3) and PHSS_43490 (on HP-UX
11i v3)
Metrocluster with 3PAR A.01.00 with PHSS_43444 and PHSS_43490 patches provides the
following new features:
• “Support for Cluster Verification” (page 4)
• “Support for Easy Deployment” (page 5)
NOTE: Starting with PHSS_43444 or later (on HP-UX 11i v3) patch release, Metrocluster Software
uses HP 3PAR Inform OS CLI client to connect to the storage. Install Inform OS CLI client on all the
nodes of the Metrocluster before installing this patch. Create a symbolic link /usr/bin/cli to
Inform OS CLI installation directory /opt/3PAR/inform_cli_<version>.

On HP-UX 11i v3 <version> is the latest supported version of HP 3PAR InForm OS CLI without
patch. On HP-UX 11i v2, Metrocluster software uses SSH to connect to the storage.
For Example:
Run the following command to create a symbolic link for the CLI installation directory.
ln -s <cli_isntallation_dirctory> /usr/bin/cli
Support for Cluster Verification
With Metrocluster March 2013 patch PHSS_43444, Metrocluster supports verification of its
packages. By using the cmcheckconf command, you can generate a report on the sanity of the
