EMC Symmetrix Software Requirements for Metrocluster/SRDF A.05.01
HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11i v2:
• EMC Solutions Enabler version 6.2, 6.2.1, 6.2.2 and 6.3
For more information on supported versions of Solutions Enabler, refer to the
Disaster Tolerant Clusters Products Compatibility and Feature Matrix available at http://
www.hp.com/go/hpux-serviceguard-docs.
• Single threaded SYMAPI run-time library.
HP 9000 platforms, 32-bit single-threaded SYMAPI library must be installed. The
option to install single-threaded SYMAPI shared libraries is available during the
installation of Solutions Enabler.
• PowerPath version 4.3.1 for Consistency Group is required.
NOTE: On Integrity platforms, if using Consistency Group:
— EMC Solutions Enabler version 6.2.1 or higher.
— PowerPath version 5.0.0 or higher.
Installing Metrocluster/SRDF
Metrocluster/SRDF can be installed while the system is running in multi-user mode
using the following steps:
1. Run swinstall to install Metrocluster/SRDF product from a SD depot. (Skip this
step if the software has been preinstalled.) The software will reside in the following
two directories:
• /opt/cmcluster/toolkit/SGSRDF
• /usr/sbin
2. Install the SymCLI software on each node that has data residing on the EMC
Symmetrix arrays.
Installing the patch PHSS_41308 on HP-UX 11i v1
1. Refer to the sections “EMC Symmetrix Hardware Requirements for patch
PHSS_41308 on HP-UX 11i v1” (page 9) and “EMC Symmetrix Software
Requirements for Patch PHSS_41308 on HP-UX 11i v1” (page 11) to confirm that
the upgraded hardware and software is compatible with this patch.
2. If there is need to upgrade the operating environment, refer to the SRDF Interfamily
Connectivity Support document available on the EMC website and confirm that the
arrays on both the sites can be configured with SRDF.
3. Disable the global switching of Metrocluster packages:
# cmmodpkg -d <Metrocluster_pkg_name>
4. For any storage operating environment or microcode upgrade, refer to the EMC
website.
