Designing Disaster Recovery Clusters using Metroclusters and Continentalclusters, Reprinted October 2011 (5900-1881)

Create a new package configuration file using the Metrocluster modules and all other
modules used by the package that has to be upgraded.
# cmmakepkg -m dts/mcxpca [ -m <module1_name> ...]\
<mcxpca_p_conf>
a.
For example, for a Metrocluster ECM Oracle toolkit modular package, run the following
command:
# cmmakepkg -m dts/mcxpca -m ecmt/oracle/oracle example.conf
This new package configuration file includes all the Metrocluster environment file
parameters.
b. In this new package configuration file, specify the same values for the package parameters
as specified in the Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP A.09.00 package configuration
file.
To obtain the Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP A.09.00 package configuration
file, run the following command:
#cmgetconf -p <package_name>
When using HP Serviceguard A.11.19, create a new Modular package file with the
Metrocluster XPCA A.10.00 or later module version.
# cmmakepkg -u <existing_package_configuration_file> -m\ dts/mcxpca
<output_file_for_upgraded_package>
For example:
# cmmakepkg -u <package_conf_file> -m dts/mcxpca\
<upgraded_package_conf_file>
2. In the file created for the upgraded package, copy the values for the following parameters
from the environment file of the package:
All parameters starting with AUTO_
DEVICE_GROUP
FENCE
HORCMINST
SYNCTIMEOUT
CLUSTER_TYPE
RDF_MODE
For information on setting these parameters, see “Configuring Modular Packages with
Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP A.10.00 or Later” (page 185).
3. Halt the package.
# cmhaltpkg <package_name>
4. Validate the package configuration file.
# cmcheckconf -P <upgraded_package_conf_file>
5. Apply the package configuration file.
# cmapplyconf -P <upgraded_package_conf_file>
6. Run the package on a node in the Serviceguard cluster.
# cmrunpkg -n <node_name> <package_name>
7. Enable global switching for the package.
# cmmodpkg -e <package_name>
