Metrocluster EMC SRDF Version A.09.01 Release Notes, September 2010 (B6264-90032)

NOTE: For the supported Symmetrix microcode level on HP-UX 11i v3, see the
Serviceguard Disaster Recovery Products Compatibility and Feature Matrix (Metrocluster
with EMC SRDF) available at http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-serviceguard-docs —>
HP Metrocluster.
For more details on supported microcode levels with SRDF and its features, refer
to the relevant Solutions Enabler Support Matrix at the EMC documentation Web
site.
M by N requires microcode level 5x67 and greater.
The R1/R2 personality swap is enabled on Symmetrix “5” and later models (that
is, not supported on Symmetrix 4) with microcode level 5567.xx.xx or greater.
Virtual Provisioning requires microcode level 5773 or greater.
Binary file changes are needed on each Symmetrix that you want to perform the
R1/R2 swap on. To check if binary changes have been made, use the following
command:
# symcfg list -v
The Dynamic RDF Configuration State field should be “Enabled” after the binary
file changes have been made.
NOTE: To perform changes in the binary file, either contact EMC personnel or
use Symmetrix Configuration Change CLI.
EMC Enginuity Level 5671 or higher is required for SRDF/Asynchronous support.
NOTE: It is recommended that the microcode levels for all the Symmetrix systems
be upgraded to the latest GA release version.
Host System Hardware Requirements
HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3:
HP Integrity servers, HP 9000 servers, or both.
Fast/Wide SCSI adapters, or FibreChannel mass storage host bus adapters cabled
to a FibreChannel switch to the EMC series disk array.
Each host in the data center must be connected to the local EMC Symmetrix disk
array using two alternately routed paths. If the hosts are connected directly to the
disk array, each path must connect to different FC port interfaces on the disk array.
Also, when using Fibre Channel HBAs for host connectivity, redundant FC switches
or hubs must be used unless the devices are fault tolerant.
