Metrocluster EMC SRDF Version A.09.01 Release Notes, September 2010 (B6264-90032)

NOTE: Sample scripts use the node names ftsys1, 2, 1a, and 2a; change them to
match your own cluster node names.
Support for HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.2
Metrocluster with EMC SRDF version A.09.01 includes support for HP Integrity Virtual
Machines 4.2. All Serviceguard-related restrictions and guidelines for supporting HP
Integrity Virtual Machines 4.2 are also applicable for Metrocluster configurations.
Following are a few additional guidelines for Metrocluster configurations:
HP Virtual Machine guests cannot be configured as a node in a Metrocluster.
To migrate the HP Virtual Machine guest online, use the hpvmsg_move command.
Metrocluster does not support online VM guest migration when the source node
and the target node are in different sites. Metrocluster supports online guest
migration only when the source node and the target node are in the same site.
For information on configuring HP Integrity Virtual Machines with Metrocluster, see
the following documents available at http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-serviceguard-docs

Using Metrocluster to Manage HP Integrity Virtual Machines
HP Integrity Virtual Machines Version 4.2 Release Notes
Support for Serviceguard A.11.20
Starting with this release, Metrocluster with EMC SRDF supports HP Serviceguard
A.11.20. All configuration restrictions that apply to HP Serviceguard also apply to
Metrocluster.
IMPORTANT:
The easy deployment feature is not supported for deployment of Metrocluster.
Live Application Detach feature is not supported in SADTA environment.
Serviceguard Package Maintenance mode is not supported for Site Controller
packages and the packages managed by the Site Controller package.
In a Metrocluster environment, the cmeval tool cannot be used to evaluate the
replication status, and the changes to the environment file. In SADTA, the cmeval
tool cannot be used to evaluate the Site Controller package operations.
Online package re-configuration of Site Controller module parameters is not
supported.
Manual Site Switching
Starting with this release, Metrocluster with EMC SRDF supports a new Serviceguard
failover policy: site_preferred_manual, introduced in HP Serviceguard Version
A.11.20. This failover policy prevents automatic failover of a package across SITEs.
