HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite A.03.02 Release Notes (March 2012)

4. Halt the cluster on the Group B nodes:
a. Node 2 or Node 3> cmhaltcl -f
5. Start the cluster on the Group A cluster nodes (these are the nodes where the SG SMS version
has already been upgraded):
a. Node 1 > cmruncl f n node1
NOTE: Steps 6, 7, and 8 in this procedure can be performed on multiple nodes in parallel,
or on one node at a time, before continuing to step 9.
6. Perform an offline upgrade of the Group B nodes (Node 2 and Node 3) to SG SMS version
A.03.00 (the same SG SMS version that the Group A nodes were upgraded to).
7. Re-join the Group B nodes to the cluster, one at a time:
a. Node 2 > cmrunnode node2
b. Node 3 > cmrunnode node3
8. Redistribute the application failover packages over ALL of the active cluster nodes (Group A
and Group B nodes).
9. Optional steps must be performed on the CVM master/CFS primary nodes to upgrade to the
new CVM and CFS protocol/layout versions (refer to the VxVM and VxFS Administrators
Guides for details):
vxdctl upgrade to upgrade CVM protocol version
vxdg upgrade <diskgroup> to upgrade disk group version
vxupgrade <mountpoint> to upgrade to new file system layout version
Using Dynamic Root Disk Utilities (DRD) to upgrade to SG SMS A.03.02
You may be able to upgrade to SG SMS A.03.02 using Dynamic Root Disk Utilities (DRD). The
DRD utilities necessary to do an upgrade to SG SMS A.03.02 are available at http://
software.hp.com - you should use DRD version A.3.4.91 or later, released in September 2009.
For more information on DRD, go to: http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/w1/en/os/
hpux11i-system-management-dynamic-root-disk.html
You can use DRD to upgrade to SG SMS A.03.02, from the following SG SMS versions only:
SG SMS A.02.00 (with CFS patch PHSS_36690 or later and with patch PHSS_37602 or
later) - this SG SMS version includes Serviceguard A.11.18
SG SMS A.02.01 - this SG SMS version includes Serviceguard A.11.19
SG SMS A.02.01.01
SG SMS A.03.00
NOTE:
Due to the issue in the VRTSvxvm pre-install script, DRD clone does not boot when an upgrade
is made to A.03.00 from earlier bundles. Please use SG SMS version A.04.00.01 bundles,
if you are upgrading using DRD.
If SG SMS A.02.00 or SG SMS A.02.01 is currently installed, and you plan to upgrade your
SG SMS version using DRD, there is a known issue already documented in some versions of
Serviceguard's checkinstall script. This checkinstall script issue is also documented
in QXCR1000901306 at: www.hp.com/go/hpsc Refer to the workaround notes in
QXCR1000901306 for instructions on how to perform this type of SG SMS upgrade.
