Announcements
The HP Serviceguard Toolkit for Oracle Data Guard facilitates easy integration of Oracle Data
Guard with HP Serviceguard cluster for High Availability. This toolkit consists of scripts used
to manage the Oracle Data Guard primary and standby database instances.
The HP Serviceguard Toolkit for Oracle Data Guard is a new product in the HP Serviceguard
product portfolio and is available in the following ways:
• HP-UX Application Release (AR)
— High Availability Operating Environment (HA OE) on HP-UX 11i v3.
— Data Center Operating Environment (DC OE) on HP-UX 11i v3.
• Download from http://software.hp.com.
What’s in this Version
The HP Serviceguard Toolkit for Oracle Data Guard includes:
• Support for HP Serviceguard versions:
— A.11.19 on HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3
— A.11.20 on HP-UX 11i v3
• Support for modular packages.
• Support for Single instance Oracle Database.
• Support for Oracle 10gR2, 11gR1, and 11gR2.
NOTE: At the time of publication, version B.01.00 of the HP Serviceguard Toolkit for Oracle
Data Guard supports the listed versions of HP Serviceguard and HP-UX. For more recent versions
of these products that are certified with this version, see the compatibility matrix available at:

Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements
Compatibility
The HP Serviceguard Toolkit for Oracle Data Guard requires the installation of supported versions
of the HP-UX operating system together with HP Serviceguard.
The following are compatible versions of HP-UX OS and HP Serviceguard for this toolkit:
• HP Serviceguard version A.11.19 for HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3
• HP Serviceguard version A.11.20 for HP-UX 11i v3
Installation
You must install the HP Serviceguard Toolkit for Oracle Data Guard on all nodes in the cluster
using one of the following methods:
