AMD Opteron 6100 series processors have a three-level cache hierarchy, including a dedicated 512KB L2 cache per core and up to 6MB shared L3 cache per die. Each die also has a dual-channel memory controller that can support up to three DDR3 DIMMs per channel at 1333 MT/s. The AMD Opteron 6100 series processors include the following: HyperTransport (HT) Assist helps increase performance of 4P and 8P ProLiant servers.

Low-voltage DDR3 DIMMs Our ProLiant G7 servers support low voltage (LV) DDR3 DIMMs. These DIMMS can operate at 1.35 V instead of the standard 1.5 V. Since they require less power, they also require less cooling. Singlerank and dual-rank LV DDR3 DIMMs run at 1066 MT/s using 1 or 2 DIMMs per channel (DPC), or they run at 800 MT/s using 3 DPC. The BIOS determines the DIMM population from the server and determines the operating voltage and data rate capability from the DIMMs.

HP Smart Array Advanced Pack The Smart Array Advanced Pack (SAAP) adds software features that further enhance Smart Array Controller performance and reliability. You can activate these features at any time with an HP software key: RAID 6 protects against the simultaneous failure of two drives in an array without downtime or data loss. RAID 60 (RAID 6+0) uses RAID 0 block-level striping across multiple RAID 6 arrays with dual distributed parity, which splits the RAID storage across multiple external boxes.

HP Remote Management HP ProLiant G7 100-series ML, DL, and SL servers use LO100i Remote Management hardware and firmware for remote server access and control capabilities. ProLiant 300, 400, 500 and 600 series server and server blades use the iLO 3 management processor. iLO 3 improves performance, streamlines the user interface, and enhances support for management standards compared to iLO 2.

Off-the-shelf image capture products often produce a migration process filled with errors, requiring several hours to troubleshoot. Insight Server Migration software eases the migration process using a series of steps: identify the source, identify the target, and click ―GO.‖ Insight Server Migration software transfers the OS, applications, and data without any errors; it even installs the required drivers on the destination server. This automated process can reduce migration time by about 75%.
