Description The HP Storage Essentials Storage Resource Management (SRM) Enterprise Edition 6.0 Application Integration Software for SAP Adaptive Computing Controller extends the SAP Adaptive Computing environment to support Storage Area Network (SAN) attached storage from Hewlett-Packard (HP).
• SAP Note 1031096: SAPHOSTAGENT installation • SAP Note 980426: Oracle 10g Software installation on new operating systems HBA Support This solution supports Qlogic host bus adapters (HBAs) for the HP Integrity Servers. Prerequisites The HP Storage Essentials SRM Application Integration Software for SAP Adaptive Computing Controller is supported as a plug-in for integrated environments running HP Storage Essentials SRM Enterprise Edition and HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM).
• Must be discovered and configured in Storage Essentials • SAP instance must be pre-installed as a virtual application • Use NIS for consistent SAP UNIX User IDs and Group IDs • Use NFS for SAP and Oracle shared binaries • Storage and the file system for the SAP instance must be pre-configured on at least one Managed Node. • HP-UX platform library It is available on HP SE SAP ACC A.02.01 CD under \libraries\HP-UX 11.23 - 11.31 IA64.
• The HP StorageWorks EVA does not require or implement a Reserved-Group. • The version of the Application Integration Software for SAP ACC only supports EVA storage systems managed by a single HP Command View EVA.
2. Ensure that the hosts entry in /etc/nsswitch.conf is configured to resolve 1st from "files" and then from DNS. HP-UX - Failed Mount Operation on Managed Node Issue: If a mount or dismount operation fails to complete for any reason (for example, array locked by another user, etc.) on the Managed Node, it is possible that the operation will leave some volume group directories or device files on the host without cleaning up completely.
Resolution: When users add or remove devices from existing volume groups, they will have to delete the storage resource from the SAP ACC Integration configuration and add the storage resource back ensuring that all physical devices are included in the configuration. This should be performed while the volume groups are active (attached) on a Managed Node in the configuration.
Workaround: Close the SE SAP ACC Integration window that was used to change the username. Restart the HP SE SAP ACC Integration Core Service. Open the SE SAP ACC Integration window and login again using the original username and password recognized by SE (not the ones changed erroneously). All operations requiring SE support should now succeed. Integration Software - Setting Reserved-Group Issue: A Reserved-Group is required for each XP disk array with storage resources defined.
If this succeeds without an exception, you have successfully avoided an inconsistent state within the Application Integration Software for SAP ACC. If this fails and you stop the HP SE SAP ACC Integration Core Service, proceed to ”Situation 3: The HP SE SAP ACC Core Service has been stopped.” Situation 3: The HP SE SAP ACC Core Service has been stopped. At this point the applications’s configuration is in an inconsistent state. Contact HP support for corrective maintenance.
