Storage Essentials 5.1 User Guide 31
If a scheduled automatic discovery task includes the deleted element, HP SIM will rediscover the
deleted element again during the next discovery.
If HP SE still lists the access point for the element, HP SE rediscovers the element the next time
during Discovery Data Collection/Get Details.
To remove systems from the HP SIM database:
1. On the HP SIM home page, click Systems in the left pane.
2. Select the elements you want to delete.
3. Click Delete.
Discovery from HP SE
To remove items from the Discovery list:
1. From the HP SIM home page, start the Storage Essentials home page, click Tools > Storage
Essentials > Home on the HP SIM home page menu. The Storage Essentials home page opens
in a separate web browser window. Click the Discovery icon in the upper-right pane of the
Storage Essentials home page.
2. Click Setup.
3. Select Step 1 at the top of the page.
4. Do one of the following:
Select the IP addresses and/or IP ranges you want to remove from the list. Then, click the
Delete button.
Click the button corresponding to the elements you want to remove from the Addresses to

IMPORTANT: The elements associated with these addresses are not removed from the
management server. See ”Deleting Elements from the Product” on page 95 for information
about how to remove an element from the management server.
Importing Discovery Settings from a File
If you have a previous discovery list you can import it, rather than re-entering the information.
