10.When you are shown the Information window, read the information presented and then click
Next.
11.Select a destination location. The default is the following:
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager.
NOTE: Select the default if you have placed the Extensions directory under
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager.
12.Click Next.
13.Click Install.
14.Click Finish.
Using the Deployment Pack
NOTE: If you were logged into HP SIM while the tool was installed, you must log out and then log
back into HP SIM to be able to see the tool.
You can use the Deployment Pack to do the following:
• Install CIM Extensions - See ”Installing the HP Storage Essentials Agent Deployment Pack” on
page 107.
• Remove CIM Extensions - See ”Removing CIM Extensions” on page 109.
Installing CIM Extensions
To use the Deployment Pack to install CIM Extensions:
1. Access HP SIM.
2. Select Deploy > Deploy Drivers, Firmware, and Agents > Install Storage Essentials.
3. Select the targets to which you want to apply the CIM Extensions.
NOTE: You can have unsupported hosts in your target. For example, if you have Solaris
CIM Extensions in your target, the tool skips over those hosts because it does not support
them.
4. When you are asked to verify target systems, select the targets and then click Next.
5. Provide a user name and password if you want them used in addition to the default
authentication methods. For example, the following credentials would also be used by default:
• Any credentials in the “System Protocol Settings” page
• The SIM private key and password set up using 'mxagentconfig'
6. If you have configured SSH authorizations for each of your systems using either the
mxagentconfig tool or the System Protocol Settings page, those are attempted in addition to the
