username and/or password provided in Step 5. You can override the default options by
deselecting the following options:
• Attempt authorization using Systems Insight Manager private key and passphrase -
If this option is selected, the trust relationship established by the SIM private key and phrase
set up using the 'mxagentconfig' tool is used to authenticate with the remote systems.
• Attempt authorizations using Credentials defined in the “System Protocol Settings”
page for each system - If this option is selected, HP SIM uses the SSH username and
password configured in the “System Protocol Settings” page for each system.
7. Click Schedule or Run Now.
You are shown the SIM “Task Results” screen where the results of the deployment are indicated.
It could take several minutes to complete the deployment, especially when deploying to HP-UX
systems.
Log files are written to the [HP SIM installation directory]\logs directory. The log files, named
“sedeploy.<hostname>.log”, indicate what happened while connected to each host during the
installation of the CIM Extension.
Removing CIM Extensions
To use the Deployment Pack to remove a CIM Extension, select Deploy > Deploy Drivers,
Firmware, and Agents > Remove Storage Essentials Extensions.
