The variable appears in the list of report variables.
You can now drag the variable into your report just as you do with objects.
Saving variables using the Variable Editor
To save a formula as a variable using the Variable Editor:
1. Click Show/Hide Variable Editor on the report panel toolbar.
The Variable Editor appears.
2. Type your formula in the Formula pane or use the functions and operators on the
Functions and Operators tab to build the formula.

3. Type the variable name in the Name box.
4. Select the variable type by selecting Dimension, Measure or Detail.
