Software Environment Variables for Scripting
Keep in mind the following:
Run scripts at your own risk. The management server lets you run any script including those that
can disable the management server.
(Management Servers on Windows Only) If you leave the Remote Console (cmd /k) open after
running a script, users can traverse the directory structure of the management server.
The software provides the following environment variables for you to put in your scripts. For
example, assume you have a script that backups a host. You could use the variables to obtain
information about the host.
The software gathers information about the element you right-clicked. For example, if you use the
variable, APPIQ_ELEMENT_ID, the management server obtains the element ID of the element you
right-clicked.
The following table lists the variables that can be used to gather information for all elements.
