Issues Related to Using Active and Standby
Command View EVA Proxy Machines
If you are using Command View EVA 4.x, and you have active and standby Command View EVA
proxy machines, specify only the active proxy for discovery from Storage Essentials. Should the
active Command View EVA host fail-over at some point to the standby host, do the following on the
management server:
1. Delete the active CV EVA host from Get Details/Discovery Data Collection from HP Storage
Essentials.
2. Discover the standby CV EVA host in Step 1 discovery from HP Storage Essentials.
3. Perform Get Details/Discovery Data Collection from HP Storage Essentials.
If you are using Command View EVA 6.x, and you have active and standby Command View EVA
proxy machines, you can discover both the managed array and the unmanaged array. If only the
unmanaged array is discovered, just the top level array information is collected. This will be
signified by a status of “managed_by_other_agent” for the array.
