HP Storage Essentials SRM Enterprise Edition 6.0 Application Integration Software for SAP ACC version A.02.01 Release Notes (August 2008)

Page 6
The HP StorageWorks EVA does not require or implement a Reserved-Group.
The version of the Application Integration Software for SAP ACC only supports EVA storage systems
managed by a single HP Command View EVA. Currently, the active/passive configuration of HP
Command View EVA is not supported
Interprocess Communications
This section provides a brief overview about how interprocess communications work:
Application Integration Software for SAP ACC Managed Node library uses simple port communications
to propagate storage operations to the HP SE server. The default is port 3333.
HP SIM uses OpenSSH with password authentication to execute commands on the Managed Node for
active storage management (file system discovery/mount/unmount).
HP Storage Essentials SRM uses the standard provisioning function to communicate with the storage
array.
Recommendations
Occasionally configuration updates in Storage Essentials for the HP StorageWorks EVA can impact SAP
instance relocates from ACC. This may result in unusually long relocates which can take longer than 5
minutes or even fail the relocate operation. To keep this risk at a minimum, SAP ACC Task Planner scheduled
relocates are recommended to be at a minimum, one hour apart or more for larger configurations that have
a higher number of LUNs and/or multiple arrays.
Known Issues
Antivirus Software
Issue:
The HP Storage Essentials server hangs when the HP SE SAP ACC Application Integration software is
running and the Antivirus software locks a resource that is being used by the SE SAP ACC.
Workaround:
If the Storage Essentials server is unresponsive, a reboot is necessary. To avoid this situation from
occurring, do not schedule the SAP ACC operations when Antivirus Scan is in progress.
HP-UX - Platform Library on HP-UX 11.23
Issue:
Under certain conditions when sapacosprep calls the platform-specific library to add or remove virtual
IP addresses from the Managed Node, the operation will fail, with the following error message.
INFO, OSP-0301, Calling SAPACOSPREP platform library function AcActivateIp
(partner ID: hp) ERROR, HPX-4100, Error in HP-UX system call fcntl: Invalid
argument (isIPremote())
Workaround:
1. Add the virtual hostname and IP address as entries in the /etc/hosts file.
