Supported Storage Requirements
For HP StorageWorks XP arrays:
XP array with latest recommended firmware.
Storage array must be configured and discovered in HP Storage Essentials. (The use of HP StorageWorks
Command View XP Advanced Edition Software is not supported in this version).
SAN attached storage with pre-configured Zone's.
A pre-configured Host group with Managed node HBA WWN added for each Managed Node.
A port and Host group for Reserved-Group allocation. This Host group is used to protect offline storage
from being considered as unused.
The number of logical devices (Ldevs) that can be managed by the solution will be limited to the number
of Ldevs that can be allocated to the Reserved-Group. This number is limited to the total number of Ldevs
on a physical host port, and depending on the array type this can be between 1024 and 2048 devices.
If the Reserved-Group shares the physical host port with a number of other host groups, the maximum
number of supported Ldevs for a configuration will be limited to the number of devices that can be
allocated to the Reserved-Group. For this reason it is important to select the least used physical host port
for the Reserved-Group.
The Reserved-Group will have no-host access and no IO will be performed to the devices in this group.
The host group will be created when the first storage resource for that array is defined.
For HP Storage Works EVA arrays:
EVA array with the latest recommended firmware.
Storage array must be configured and discovered in HP Storage Essentials SRM.
SAN attached storage must have pre-configured zones.
Storage array must have a pre-configured host for each managed node with all applicable HBA WWNs
added.
