Reporting Center requirements
The Reporting Center console can be run on any of the Reporting Center server
operating systems listed below or on a Windows XP machine. The Reporting Center
server must meet all of the following requirements.
l Operating system—The Reporting Center server can be installed on any of the
following operating systems.
l Microsoft Windows 2008 or 2008 R2 Standard or Enterprise
l Microsoft Windows 7
l Microsoft Windows 2003 Standard or Enterprise with Service Pack 1 or later
l Microsoft Windows 2000 Standard or Advanced with Service Pack 4
l SQL Server—You can use the SQLServer 2005 Express database included with
Reporting Center, or you can connect to an existing Microsoft SQL 2000 or 2005
server. If you are using SQLServer 2000, you must have Service Pack 4 or later. If
you are using SQLServer 2005, you must have Service Pack 2 or later.
l Microsoft .NET Framework—Reporting Center requires Microsoft .NETversion
2.0.x or 3.5.1. These versions are not included in the .NETversion 4.0 release.
Therefore, even if you have .NETversion 4.0 installed, you will also need version
2.0.x or 3.5.1. You can install the 3.5.1 version from the Storage Mirroring
Reporting Center CD or from a copy you have obtained manually from the
Microsoft web site.
l Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)—You must have Microsoft Data
Access Components version 2.8 with Service Pack 1 or later.
l System memory—You should have at least 1 GB of system memory.
l Disk space—You should have at least 10 GB of free space.
l Processor—You should have at least an Intel P4-compatible CPU running at 1.2
GHz or higher
l Storage Mirroring servers—In most cases, you can run Reporting Center on a
Storage Mirroring server. However, there may be cases where a Storage Mirroring
hotfix applied to a Storage Mirroring server may cause incompatibilities with
Reporting Center. In that case, you will have to run Reporting Center from a
separate machine. Contact technical support if you have a hotfix on your Storage
Mirroring server that is running Reporting Center.
