Managing Data Transmission
Using the Storage Mirroring commands, you can perform the following functions to manage your connections.
Controlling transmission manually on page 8-1
Controlling a target manually on page 8-3
Scheduling transmission criteria on page 8-4
Setting bandwidth limitations on page 8-7
Controlling transmission manually
You can stop, start, pause, or resume transmission.
1. To start the transmission process, use the transmission start command.
2. To stop the transmission process, use the transmission stop command.
NOTE: As noted in the Scripting Guide Introduction on page 1-1, this guide does not explain Storage Mirroring features
and functions, only the scripting aspects of Storage Mirroring. For details on the different features and functions,
see the Storage Mirroring User’s Guide.
Command TRANSMISSION START
Description Initiates the transmission process
Syntax
TRANSMISSION START <target>
Options target—Name of the target, an IP address on the target, or a virtual IP address. Depending on the
network route Storage Mirroring uses to access the target, you may need to specify the fully
qualified domain name.
Examples
transmission start beta
Notes Target names that contain non-alphanumeric characters must be enclosed in quotation marks.
Command TRANSMISSION STOP
Description Stops the transmission process
Syntax
