Configuring and removing orphan files
1. To configure orphan removal or deletion during mirror, verification, and restoration processes,
use the
orphans enable command.
2. Use the MoveOrphanedFiles, RemoveAllOrphans, , RemoveOrphansTime,
MoveOrphansDir
, and LogAllOrphans options with the get and set commands for orphan
file configuration. See Server Settings on page 15-1 for more information on using these
commands with a Storage Mirroring program setting.
3. To disable orphan removal or deletion, use the orphans disable command.
4. To remove orphan files manually, use the orphans start command.
Command ORPHANS ENABLE
Description Enables orphan file removal during subsequent mirror or verification
processes.
Syntax
ORPHANS ENABLE con_id
Options con_id—Connection ID assigned to the source/target connection
Examples
orphans enable 1
Command ORPHANS DISABLE
Description Disables orphan file removal during subsequent mirror or verification
processes.
Syntax
ORPHANS DISABLE con_id
Options con_id—Connection ID assigned to the source/target connection
Examples
orphans disable 1
Command ORPHANS START
Description Manual operation to remove any orphan files on the target
Syntax
ORPHANS START con_id [CLEARRESTOREREQUIRED]
Options
con_id—Connection ID assigned to the source/target connection
CLEARRESTOREREQUIRED—Clears the restore required flag and
initiates the orphan operation
Examples
orphans start 1
