Requirements
Storage Mirroring for Virtual Infrastructure requires the following minimum system configuration:
z The Storage Mirroring for Virtual Infrastructure client and the Storage Mirroring for Virtual
Infrastructure service must be installed on a server running one of the following 32-bit operating
systems:
z Microsoft
®
Windows
®
XP
z Microsoft Windows 2003
z A copy of Storage Mirroring for Virtual Infrastructure
z VMware VirtualCenter 2.x or later (Strongly recommended: VMware VirtualCenter 2.0.1 or
later)
z VMware ESX Server 3.x or later (Strongly recommended: VMware ESX Server 3.0.1 or later)

NOTE: VMware ESX Server version 3i is not supported.
NOTE: In order to use automatic e-mail notification, you must add VI_Service.exe to the
exception list of most antivirus and spam filters. In addition, you may need to open port
25 in your antivirus software to allow SMTP e-mail. For more information, see Set e-mail
notification options on page 26.
