4. When setting up SQL servers in a workg roup, make sure the source server’s NIC does not
register the IP addresses with DNS.
5. When using a domain service account for SQL server 2005 that is not in the domain adm ins
or local admins group, the replicated databases will not mount on the target. This is due to
security restrictions at the file system level. The worka round is to place the SQL 2005 ser vice
account in the local admins group of the target.
6. When running the Application Manager with SQL in a workgroup (with the DNS ser ver in a
domain), an error is recorded in the DFO.log fi le. In addition, the log file lists the target server
as the DNS server instead of listing the d om ain DNS server. This does not impact Application
Manager functionality.
7. The Application M anager does not suppor t a SQL default instance that has been con figured to
use non-default ports.
File
You cannot failover file shares from a parent to a child domain.
SharePoint
When failing back, a message may appear stating “Unable to contact SQL services on <source
databaseserver>.WouldyouliketotrytostarttheMSSQLSERVER service for this server?” This message
can be ignored.
